House limps into the Hospital three hours late with a grin on his face.
Cuddy spends all of two seconds hating him for it before doing her job and slapping a file into his chest. “Eight month old with a sudden onset of hearing loss, locked joints, severe torso rash, and inability to digest.”
House pauses in his brisk pace and turns to her, grabbing the file as he does. “You're lucky I'm in a good mood today, or I'd have to remind you that I don't treat babies.”
“Uh-huh.” Cuddy nods, uncaring, and turns on her heel to walk away.
“Don't you want to know why I'm in such a good mood?” House shouts after her.
Cuddy turns but keeps walking to her office. “Not really, no.” And the door slams closed behind her.
“The answer you're looking for is hookers.” House's yell echoes through the suddenly silent clinic. “Don't worry,” he grins to the staring patients, “we used protection.”And with that House hop-skips into the elevator, waving cheerily as the doors close behind him.
Agent Victor Henrickson storms out of Charlie Duchamp's office with clenched fists and a scowl that could freeze the most hardy of criminals in their tracks.
This, of course, had little to no impact on Lloyd Lowery. “I don't see what the big deal is Henrickson. It's win-win. You get to take a vacation, we get to shave a few months off our sentences. What's a couple psychopathic murderers between friends?”
Henrickson pauses in his storm towards the elevator and redirects himself into Lloyd's personal space. “If you ever refer to me as friend again, convict, I will shoot you in the head and claim you tried to run.”
Lloyd puts up his hands in surrender, eyes widening. “You're showing signs of misdirected aggression. You should prob-”
Henrickson cuts him off with a hard finger poke to the chest.
Lloyd flinches back and warily rubs his pectoral. “Ow!”
“Really? I'm angry?! No shit Sherlock! I've been chasing these boys for two years now and I had them in prison. They were in jail, where you're supposed to be, and now they're gone, and your boss wants me to let you – who I just got into the damn prison system – find them for me!”
Henrickson shakes his head and takes a step back from Lloyd, shooting a wary look over his shoulder at Ray. “I should be on this case. Those boys are mine. I've been living their lives for two fucking years of my life! I know how they think, I know how they breathe, but your boss just had to step all over my jurisdiction and get the fucking superintendent involved. So here you are, and here I am. If you blow this, I will bury this little bullshit experiment.” Henrickson points a threatening finger at Ray, then at Charlie as he steps out of his office. “You better fucking believe it.”
And then he steps onto the elevator, and disappears.
Charlie turns to his team. “Well, you heard him guys. This one's a big one. Don't screw it up.”
